      The opponents

      The record champions from Wolfsburg's U-20 side have been playing in the 2. Bundesliga since 2013, finishing 2nd in the table four times in a row between 2016 and 2020. Last season Daniel Kraus's side (he's been in charge at Elsterweg since 2022), finished in 6th place.

      Last weekend, the "Wölfin" were able to record their first win of the season against FC Bayern München II, having lost their first two games against FC Carl Zeiss Jena, 3-0 at home, and SC Sand 4-1. 

      It will be a return to her old stomping ground for Union's regular goalkeeper Melanie Wagner. The 21-year-old was under contract with VfL Wolfsburg II from 2018 to 2022 and kept goal for the U-20 team in 13 2. Liga matches.
