Short-Term Loan for Union Youth

Laurenz Dehl on the Move

The Union midfielder Laurenz Dehl has agreed a six month loan to Viktoria Berlin.

Laurenz Dehl will leave 1. FC Union Berlin for the next six months but stay in Berlin, with the 21-year-old joining FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin on loan.

For Dehl, who started playing at SC Blau-Gelb berlin, and joined Union's youth ranks in 2011, the move to Viktoria is already a third loan in three years. A year with Hallescher FC was followed by four months with Bohemians in Dublin in 2022. Sadly, an injury during his time in Ireland prevented him from playing more than once there.

The Berlin native has played a total of 90 games altogether for Union's youth teams, HFC and Bohemians, scoring 20 goals and providing eleven assists.

"After his loan to Dublin did not go as we had all hoped, this provides a new opportunity for Laurenz. We hope, of course, that he can and will make the best possible use of his time at Viktoria," commented Union's director of professional football, Oliver Ruhnert, on the loan.
