Wszolek joins Legia Warsaw

Former Polish international Pawel Wszolek is heading to his homeland and signing for Legia Warsaw.

The 30-year-old made one brief appearance for Union in the German Cup after joining from Legia in 2021. Wszolek previously played for Sampdoria, Verona and Queens Park Rangers during his career. The winger has been back at Legia since the winter where he scored six goals and assisted three times.

"Unfortunately, my time in Berlin has already come to an end. I have met very nice people here and wish Union every success in the coming season," said Wszolek.

"Pawel Wszolek accepted a situation that was certainly not satisfactory for him and always put himself at the service of the team. We are very grateful for his professional attitude and wish him every success for the future," said Oliver Ruhnert, 1. FC Union Berlin's Managing Director for Professional Football.
