Union first-team squad returns to Berlin

1. FC Union Berlin's first-team squad returned home on Sunday evening following the training camp in Spain.

"The training camp was very positive for us overall," said head coach Urs Fischer. "With Marc Torrejon, Grischa Prömel and Nicolai Rapp, we had three players who are back on track after their injuries and were able to get minutes under their belts without any complaints. Unfortunately, Joshua Mees took a bit of a hit so we'll see exactly how that situation is next week. It was an important point for us to come home with a fit squad. We trained really well and were able to implement our plan almost on a one-to-one basis. Our players came back from holidays with good fitness levels so we were able to do exactly what we wanted to train. In addition, there was plenty of time for treatment and individual care — a very important part of our daily work. The lads did a good job in Spain."

The squad returns to training at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei at 14:00 on Tuesday.
