Just in time for the first competitive game of the 2022/23 season, 1. FC Union Berlin announces its three captains and the team council. Both old and new faces will appear on the team council.

Captains

Christopher Trimmel continues to lead the team as first captain. The 35-year-old is entering his fifth year with the captain’s armband. Rani Khedira and Julian Ryerson are serving as his deputies.

Team council

Again this season the team council consists of experienced and new players. The three captains Trimmel, Khedira and Ryerson are set, along with Jakob Busk, Danilho Doekhi, Niko Gießelmann and Sheraldo Becker.
