With the 2020/21 adidas home and away shirts already available, it's time for 1. FC Union Berlin to present the third kit for the new campaign.
Union's alternative kit will be dark blue and interspersed with grey stripes. The idea behind it was to create a shirt for Union by Union fans. Adidas invited a delegation to the company headquarters in Herzogenaurach in Autumn 2019, featuring young player Laurenz Dehl, rapper Liquit Walker and supporter Marcus Schuster.
Very quickly it was decided to design a shirt which matched the history of the club. The basic dark blue colour stands for the work uniform of the locksmith guys from Oberschöneweide. Both the shorts and socks follow the same colour.
The lettering "100 Jahre Stadion an der Alten Försterei" is printed on the back of the neck to mark the century of our home stadium.
The third kit is out now at a price of 89,95 Euro and can be purchased online or at any club store in Berlin. Only copies from Union's official outlets includes the printing "1. FC Union Berlin" on the back and above the number.
Union will wear the shirt for the first time against Ajax in Amsterdam.
The alternative kit can be purchased also in selected Adidas stores and online.
