Antigen Rapid Tests on Matchdays

On Week 25 of the Bundesliga season, 1. FC Union Berlin will offer a free SARS-CoV-2 antigen rapid test to all staff who are part of match operations at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei. The aim is to test out the exact procedures from the test performance, result and the digital infrastructure for the stewards at the turnstiles, as well as, gain further insights for future operations.

"The approval of Corona rapid tests for widespread use in public life enables us to test in practice the process line we designed last summer based on our main idea. We want to be optimally prepared to carry out a pilot project with spectators as soon as a corresponding permit has been issued for this," confirmed Christian Arbeit, Director for Media and Communications at 1. FC Union Berlin.

The testing of personnel on matchday will be on a voluntary basis. As such, we will alternatively use the guidelines and protocols issued by the league for admission to the stadium. Irrespective of the testing, all hygiene rules prescribed by the DFL as part of the special match operation will apply at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.
