Union Berlin‘s Under 17 team will face FC Porto and Olympique Marseille in group A of this year‘s GG8-Youngster Cup on Saturday.
The matches to qualify for the final round at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on Sunday will be played between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Werner-Seelenbinder-Stadion in Luckenwalde. The Youngster Cup is set in three groups of three teams each and will be opened with Union‘s match against FC Porto. After this game the Portuguese side will face Olympique Marseille before Unions game against Olympique Marseille will close the group stage for the three contenders.
After a 5th place in last year‘s tournament, the team of coach Daniel Schulz, a former Union player, wants to join the final round on Sunday this year. Union‘s Under 17 team finished the Bundesliga Nord/Nord-Ost on position nine, the biggest succes last season was the win of the Berlin Cup in May.

Union Berlin is hosting the GG8-Youngster Cup in cooperation with Deutsche Fußball Agentur from Hamburg and FSV Luckenwalde.
