This is also based on the values of the alliance "Welcome to Football", which has been building bridges between people of different backgrounds for many years under the leadership of the foundation of 1. FC Union Berlin e.V. and helping refugees find their footing in their new Berlin environment.

On Sunday, 18.10.2026, the alliance "Welcome to Football" will host an intercultural football tournament at the training center Oberspree. Spectators are warmly invited to cheer on the teams and experience a day full of sports, fair play, and community.

From 10:00, twelve teams with players aged sixteen and above will compete for goals and sporting success. However, the focus is far more than just what happens on the pitch: the tournament brings together young people with and without a refugee background and creates room for exchange, encounters, and shared experiences.

Catering will be provided: food and drinks will be offered for a donation. The proceeds will benefit the foundation "UNION VEREINT.Schulter an Schulter" and support its diverse social projects.
