Foundation Hands Over "Eisern für Menschlichkeit" Donations
10,000 Euros Raised for the Wuhlheide Railway
As part of the annual "Eisern für Menschlichkeit" campaign, the warm-up shirts worn by the Union first team squads before the Bayern München and Werder Bremen games were auctioned off in the spring.
The Parkeisenbahn Wuhlheide, located in the immediate vicinity of the Stadion An der Alten Försterei, is being supported in its efforts to make another inclusive and barrier-free platform.
At the women's game against Nürnberg, a group of young Parkeisenbahner and Parkeisenbahnerinnen accepted the donation cheque in the amount of €10,000.
“We are very pleased that many Unioner participated in the auction. The Parkeisenbahn is a popular destination in our immediate neighborhood, thriving on a lot of volunteer engagement. It is all the more wonderful that we could support the non-profit Parkeisenbahn company in making its offerings inclusive and thus accessible to as many people as possible. Thank you to everyone who contributed by auctioning off a shirt or making a donation,” said Christian Arbeit, Chairman of the Board of the “UNION VEREINT. Schulter an Schulter” foundation.
