1. FC Union Berlin have taken the option to sign Suleiman Abdullahi from Eintracht Braunschweig on a permanent transfer following his impressive loan spell in Köpenick.
The 22-year-old played an integral role in Union's promotion with two goals in 19 games, as well as, two strong performances in the Bundesliga relegation play-offs against VfB Stuttgart.
"I'm very happy to continue playing for 1. FC Union Berlin. It was a good year for me and I'm looking forward to the new season and the Bundesliga," said the young Nigerian.
"Suleiman was able to convince us with his speed and his physique. He is only 22 years old and we are sure that he will also bring his qualities to the Bundesliga and continue to develop," said Oliver Ruhnert, 1. FC Union Berlin's Director for Professional Football.
Abdullahi has signed a three-year-deal which is valid for both Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga competition.
