Abdullahi heads to pastures new
Suleiman Abdullahi will be a name in Union history following his goal in the relegation play-off match at VfB Stuttgart. Ujah departs the capital
Anthony Ujah joined 1. FC Union ahead of the first-ever season in the Bundesliga. He brought experience and goals from his previous time at Mainz and Köln. In February 2022, he returned to action against Borussia Dortmund and was greeted with cheers of "Tony" from the crowd at the Alte Försterei.
Oczipka moves on after successful season
After a successful season, Bastian Oczipka's time with Union has come to a close. Coming from Schalke, Oczipka was supposed to add to the depth of the squad in the full-back area. In 17 competitive matches, he assisted one goal each in the Bundesliga and the German Cup. The 33-year-old played a key role to help achieve European football and reach the German Cup semi-finals.
