Eintracht Frankfurt finished last season in third, qualifying for the UEFA Women’s Champions League. But after their 1-1 draw in the first leg against Paris Saint-Germain, they lost the second leg in extra time 5-1,  while being one player short. Their European adventure was over almost as soon as it had begun. 

Before the new season, they already had to cope with several high-profile departures. Elisa Senß (Real Madrid), Nicole Anyomi (London City Lionesses), Géraldine Reuteler (FC Arsenal), Nadine Riesen (West Ham), Lisanne Gräwe, and Jella Veit left the club, along with Eleni Markou, who celebrated promotion to the Bundesliga with 1. FC Union Berlin, moving to Galatasaray [Istanbul].  

To fill the gaps created, Frankfurt strengthened in the summer with several high-profile new signings. This includes, among others, Sofie Lundgaard and Vivienne Lia, both of whom transferred from England. They also secured other notable players like Hanna Bennison from Real Madrid, as well as the Bundesliga-experienced Larissa Mühlhaus from Werder Bremen and Paulina Krumbiegel from Juventus, who are expected to play important roles this season.  

The clubs have faced each other three times in the past, during Union's first season in the Bundesliga and the 2024 DFB Pokal. Union are yet to beat them.

After losing the first game in the cup 2-0, there followed a 2-2 draw in the Stadion An der Alten Försterei, as well as a 4-2 away defeat in Frankfurt on the last day of the season.

Jella Veit and Lisanne Gräwe, who moved to the Alte Försterei in the summer, will face their former club for the first time on Monday while wearing the Union jersey. Both were part of Eintracht's squad before joining 1. FC Union Berlin for the 2026/27 season.  

Union's coaching staff will have to do without the services of Anna Aehling, Hannah Eurlings, Ida Heikkinen, Korina Janež, Mariann Noack, Dina Orschmann, and Tanja Pawollek. 

Marie-Louise Eta saw the upcoming home game as follows. “We are looking forward to playing against Frankfurt on Monday evening in our stadium in front of our fans. We are expecting an intense match that will demand everything from us. We want to use the experiences from past matches to take the next step in our development together. It will be crucial to consistently bring the basics onto the pitch from the first minute and to demonstrate our qualities as a team. We want to do everything we can to keep the points at the Alte Försterei in the end.”

The Stadion An der Alten Försterei will open its gates one and a half hours before kick-off.

Hämmerlingstraße is open again, but the footpath to the stadium does not lead over the Waldweg, but along the Ballsporthalle. Please note the closure of the Bahnhofstraße, pedestrians and cyclists can use the Bahnhofshalle as a detour.  

There are no parking facilities available around the stadium. Parking tickets for the lot in front of the main stand can only be booked online. Union recommends arriving by public transport. Please note the disruptions there.
