Before kick off, 20 participants gathered in Union's learning center for a three-hour empowerment workshop. They engaged with topics such as self-confidence, personal development, and the importance of recognizing their own strengths and goals. The aim of the program was to empower young womaen aged fourteen to sixteen to recognize their potential, confidently pursue their path, and gain new perspectives for their future.

A special highlight was a meet & greet with Hannah Eurlings and Dina Orschmann from the firstteam, as well as Jennifer Zietz, Director of Women’s Professional Football at 1. FC Union Berlin. In personal conversations, the participants gained insights into the careers of the footballers, had the opportunity to ask questions, and learned firsthand how important perseverance, courage, and passion are on the way to achieving their own goals.

The encounters highlighted the value authentic role models have for young people. The players shared their experiences in competitive sports, but also discussed challenges and successes outside of the pitch. This created an open exchange that could provide the girls with motivation and new impulses for their own life path.

At the end of the day, the workshop participants took their seats together on the main stand of the Stadion An der Alten Försterei to watch the home game against Eintracht Frankfurt. The special atmosphere in the stadium, the closeness to the team, and the shared football experience rounded off a day that resonated far beyond sports.
