Union back in training

Urs Fischer's squad are back in pre-season training ahead of the new season. After some medical tests on Monday and Tuesday, the 22 available players came together for the first team training session under the sun in Köpenick.

Burning up a sweat

All of the sessions on Monday and Tuesday took place at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei training pitches. The squad was divided into two groups with one at the Charite clinic for tests and the other going through their paces with athletic coach Martin Krüger. Wednesday, however, was the first time the group got together.

Captain Christopher Trimmel, Genki Haraguchi, Andras Schäfer, Tymoteusz Puchacz and Julian Ryerson were on international duty during the summer and will join up with the team for the first training camp in Bad Saarow. Pawel Wszolek wasn't with the national team, but is still on holiday after the long season in Poland.

Most new faces in training

Lennart Grill, Milos Pantovic, Tim Skarke and Janik Haberer were back for the training start, while Malick Sanogo, Aljoscha Kemlein and Yannic Stein joined from the youth team. Jamie Leweling and Fabio Schneider are going through their rehab, while Paul Seguin is sick. Defender Danilho Doekhi will join up with the squad in Bad Saarow.

On Thursday, the squad heads to Scharmützelsee for a mini-training break and returns on Sunday. The first pre-season game is on Wednesday June 29 away at Viktoria Berlin.
