Today, 1. FC Union Berlin and partners Adidas can unveil the 2021/22 official away kit.

This season, the Köpenick club will head around the country in a spectacular grey camouflage design. The unique colours for 1. FC Union Berlin are designed to be reminiscent of the club's early years, when young industrial workers from Oberschöneweide took up playing football for the first time. The colours and designs represent the uniforms which would normally be covered in dirt after a hard day's work. The shirt is finished with some nice additions — "UNVEU!" is lettered on the neck, while the sleeves and collar are dark grey. The kit is complete with the grey shorts and socks.

Sustainability plays a key role in this shirt and our partnership with Adidas. The new shirt is made up of 100% recycled polyester and carries the Adidas PrimeGreen label. This label identifies that the products contained are all from recycled materials. They avoid waste and conserve natural resources, while offering full functionality in sports. The classic three stripes brand has set itself the target of replacing newly-manufactured polyester with recycled alternatives in all products by 2024 — as far as technically possible.

Our away kit will be worn for the first time against Dynamo Kiev on Friday.
