Neven Subotic has left 1. FC Union Berlin to join Turkish top-flight club Denizlispor.
The 31-year-old spent a full season in Köpenick and scored his only goal for the club against Augsburg in the Bundesliga. Subotic was an important signing for Union, joining from Saint-Etienne after previous spells in the Bundesliga.
"I had a great year in Berlin and together we experienced many unforgettable moments. The fact that we were able to hold our own at the end of the season was the confirmation of our good work. The development means that I would like to look for a new challenge again. That's why I'm now looking forward to my next stop in Turkey. Many thanks to all players, responsible persons and especially to the fans for this special time," said the defender after his farewell.
"Neven has contributed a lot to the fact that we arrived there quickly after the Bundesliga promotion and helped us a lot with his experience and performance. We wish Neven only the best on his next journey in the game," said Oliver Ruhnert, Director for Professional Football at 1. FC Union Berlin.
