Leon Dajaku completes move to Union from Bayern

1. FC Union Berlin have signed 19-year-old Leon Dajaku on loan from Bayern Munich with the option to purchase.

Dajaku went from VfB Stuttgart's academy to Bayern's reserve team and was a key player as they finished top of Germany's third division last season. The attacker was given his debut in Bayern Munich's first team last season and he celebrated being part of the first-team of Hansi Flick. In 14 games this season in the 3.Liga for Bayern's U23s, he has scored three goals.

"I'm sure that the move to Berlin is the right step for me. Union offers me the opportunity to gain a foothold in the Bundesliga and to show myself at the highest level. The team has been exceptional this season and I'm now happy to be a part of it," said the forward player upon signing at the Alte Försterei.

"Leon is a highly-talented young player who has proven his abilities not only at youth level but also at first-team level. Leon is fast, technical and can be used in different attacking positions. That's why we are sure he can take his next development steps with us and in the Bundesliga," said Oliver Ruhnert, Director for Professional Football at 1. FC Union Berlin.
