1. FC Union Berlin's Lennard Maloney will join the United States U20 national team for the upcoming international break.
Ted Ramos' side are focused on qualification for the U20 World Cup, which takes place next summer in Poland. The United States and Maloney will contest in three bounce games over the next fortnight against the U19 squad and both Paraguay and Venezuela.
Maloney, born in Berlin, is the son of a German mother and American father and holds dual citizenship. He was previously involved in the U18 and U19 national teams of the German Football Association (DFB) but has opted to commit his future to the United States. In July 2018, Maloney fulfilled his dream of representing the US during a training camp in North Carolina.
