Two co-opted to Supervisory Board

1. FC Union Berlin's Supervisory Board have co-opted Björn Böhning and Dr. Christopher Schulte in accordance with the Articles of Association Section 22 (4) and 17 (1), as of 15.04.2022. Both want to contribute their experience, network and expertise to the club's supervisory board having been active with the club as volunteers in the past.

Born on June 2 1978, Böhning has been a Berliner since 1999, has studied political science and served as head of the Senate of Berlin Chancellery from 2011 to 2018. He has previously worked for the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. From May 2022, he will take on the role as Managing Director of Germany's TV and film production alliance. Björn has been a member of 1. FC Union Berlin since 2016 and regularly attends at the Alte Försterei. Since the start of our club foundation, he has been an honorary member.

Dr. Christoph Schulte was born in Gronau/Westphalia on May 20, 1970. He studied law and has worked for many years as an independent lawyer and partner in a Berlin law firm. He has been a regular at Stadion An der Alten Försterei since his first match - in September 2010, Union won 2-0 against MSV Duisburg thanks to goals from Torsten Mattuschka and Santi Kolk. Schulte initially became a member of the club in 2011 and joined the Wirtschaftsrat 1. FC Union e. V. in 2013. Since 2016, he has been an honorary member of the board of the foundation in an honorary capacity, and he has been its deputy chairman since 2017.

"The continuous successful development of our club in recent years, combined with major economic development steps, and the challenges ahead of us, such as the stadium construction, we would like to take into account in the Supervisory Board with the further expansion of competence and expertise. At the same time, we also want to take the first steps towards rejuvenating the Supervisory Board so that we can continue the successful work of recent years in the future. With Björn Böhning and Dr. Christoph Schulte, we are gaining two very competent and well-connected Union members for the supervisory body of our club, and we are particularly looking forward to their cooperation," said Thomas Koch, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of 1. FC Union Berlin, explaining the co-optation of the two new members during the current election period.

Björn Böhning and Christoph Schulte will stand for election to the supervisory board at the club's next general meeting.
