1. FC Union Berlin will take on Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Saturday July 28, 2018 at 14:30 local time.
It’s our first game in the UK, so in order that everything runs smoothly, here are some important details for supporters heading to the match.
Arrival:
Stadium: Loftus Road Stadium, S Africa Rd, Shepherd’s Bush, London W12 7PJ
Getting there:
Via Subway: White City (Central Line), Wood Lane Station and Shepherd’s Bush Market (Hammersmith and City Line)
Bus Parking: At Dorando Close on South Africa Road. Stadium is walking distance from there.
Stadium opens 13:00 (local time)
It’s recommended that supporters arrive early and in smaller groups, so that there are no delays at the turnstiles.
Away Section: No tickets for the away end will be available on matchday. The last opportunity to buy tickets for the Union section is until Thursday July 26 at 16:00 from the club store at the stadium in Berlin.
Tickets for the home areas are only available with proof of residence in the UK.
A last-minute decision to attend the game without a ticket purchased in advance is therefore not possible.
Entrance:
Extensive security checks may result in longer waiting times at the turnstiles. Please arrive early to ensure a speedy entrance.
Behaviour:
Smoking is banned inside the stadium.
Alcohol can be purchased and consumed in the concourse area, but it cannot be brought on to the stands or the seating area.
It is illegal to consume alcohol with a view to the pitch. This is a legal requirement and so violation of this will lead to fans being ejected from the stadium.
Pyrotechnics are strictly forbidden in stadiums in the UK. Anyone who attempts to bring pyrotechnics into the stadium will be denied access. Violation will result in arrest.
Fan Gear:
Flags and banners are allowed into the stadium as long as they are smaller than 2m x 1m. If a flag is larger then a valid fire certificate is required.
Flagpoles are not allowed in the stadium.
Musical instruments are allowed, but speakers or megaphones cannot be brought to the match as the sound system has to be heard at all times.
About London:
London is home to numerous well-known football clubs. The city has six teams in the English Premier League while Millwall, QPR and Brentford compete in the English Championship.
At the weekend, a cycling race will take place which will impact most routes in the City Centre. It’s for this reason that the fan march has been cancelled.
