Action in Aid of Earthquake Victims in Syria and Turkey

Eisern Help for People in Need

Before the VfB Stuttgart match on Saturday the Union players will warm up in special Tshirts, to be then auctioned off for the victims of the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria

Two football players in red jerseys are standing on a stadium field, with stands and trees visible in the background.

At the beginning of February, a severe earthquake shook Turkey and Syria. According to estimates, more than 50,000 people lost their lives and more than one million have been homeless since then. Under the motto "Eisern für Menschlichkeit", 1. FC Union Berlin, together with their foundation "UNION VEREINT. Schulter an Schulter" ("Shoulder to Shoulder") are to collect donations for the victims in the affected areas.

As part of the 26th Bundesliga match day, the Union players will warm up for the home match against VfB Stuttgart with the message "Eisern für Menschlichkeit" on the front of their red T-shirts. These adidas training shirts will be signed after the match and auctioned off on the club's own platform from Sunday with all proceeds going towards earthquake relief.

The proceeds from the auction and donations will go entirely to Caritas Berlin, which is working on the ground together with Caritas International to provide aid in the worst-hit areas of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama and Idlib. Further information on the relief organisation and its work on the ground can be found here.

The Union Foundation also accepts donations for earthquake relief paid directly to:
