1. FC Union Berlin under-19's will wrap up their Bundesliga campaign with a final away match of the season at VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday May 11 at 13:00.
"Playing against such a strong team is an important and necessary challenge," said head coach Toni Mandl. "We are therefore looking forward to this clash against the new champions, who will of course make us demand a lot from the game. In this season, we've shown time and time again that we can show good performances even against the best."
Wolfsburg secured their title as champions of northeast and north this week. In the semi-finals of the German championships, the Wolves will take on VfB Stuttgart.
Last week, Union lost 2-1 at home to St. Pauli after a frustrating end to the first 45 minutes. But after the break, the Köpenick club started to take more control of the game against the strong side from Hamburg. "In the end, we narrowly missed out on the points," said Mandl.
Union's attention on Tuesday May 14 turns to the Berlin Cup final against Tennis Borussia Berlin. The match will take place at the FEZ-Berlin complex and kick-off is at 18:00.
