Yannic Stein to Start the New Season With Union

1. FC Union Berlin's men's team will be able to count on the services of goalkeeper Yannic Stein earlier than initially planned. Union, the Regionalliga club SV Babelsberg 03, and the 20-year-old have agreed on an early termination of the loan deal originally intended to last until summer 2026.

The native Berliner joined Babelsberg in January and went on to play 15 time for the side who ultimately finished 13th. Babelsberg picked up 15 points during this period, ensuring Regionalliga Nordost safety.

“We have observed Yannic's performances over the past six months and are very pleased with his development," said Union's director of men's professional football, Host Heldt, on the return of the young stopper. "Therefore, we have decided to bring him back early so that he can once again be part of our goalkeeper team. We thank Babelsberg for their support, their trust in Yannic, and the opportunities they provided for a young goalkeeper to gain match practice.”
