All 14 teams of the Google Pixel women’s league as well as the two highest-ranked teams from the second women's league of the previous season – VfB Stuttgart and 1. FSV Mainz 05 – did not have to compete in the previous playoff round and will enter the competition in the first main round. The draws were made by Kerstin Garefrekes, assistant coach of the U23 women's national team and former national player.  

“We are looking forward to the cup competition in which we would like to advance far. Today's draw against Magdeburg is convenient for us, as it is particularly not too far for our fans to travel. We will prepare well for this match to successfully advance to the next round,” said managing director of women's professional football, Jennifer Zietz, regarding the draw. 

The first main round of the DFB Pokal will take place from 26 to 28 September. The exact timings are still pending.
