The game against last season's fourth placed HNL team is all about a long-time companion of both clubs and will act as a farewell game for Damir Kreilach. The midfielder moved from his hometown club HNK Rijeka to 1. FC Union Berlin in the summer of 2013, where he became a true fan-favourite due to his great commitment and passion. By the time of his departure in 2018, the Croatian had played 157 competitive matches in the Union shirt and continues to enjoy great respect both in Berlin and in Rijeka to this day.

For Kreilach, a special circle closes at his old home. The friendly provides the opportunity to honour his contributions to both clubs together and to bid him a festive farewell in front of a home crowd.
