Belgian International Striker Moves to Berlin:
Union Sign Hannah Eurlings
Hannah Eurlings will be chasing goals for 1. FC Union Berlin's women's team from next season. The 22-year-old striker has transferred to Union from Oud-Heverlee Leuven.
Belgian national team debut at 17
Eurlings began her football career at Lierse SK before moving to the youth academy of Oud-Heverlee Leuven in 2017 at the age of 14. At just 16, she made her debut on the first matchday of the 2019/20 season in the Super League, Belgium's top division. Six months later, she scored her first top flight goal. Eurlings got off to a strong start in the following season, scoring six times in her first eight games, a run that earned her a debut for the Belgian senior national team in December 2020, just a few days before her 18th birthday. She came on as a stoppage time substitute in a 4-0 win over Switzerland.
In the years that followed, Eurlings developed into a key player for Leuven and a regular part of the national team. Over the next six years, she played in 124 first division matches, scoring 38 goals. She finished the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons with Leuven in first place after the regular season but had to concede the championship title to RSC Anderlecht in the subsequent final round. Last season, Eurlings scored 13 times in 25 games and won the Belgian championship with Leuven, scoring the only goal in the1-0 win on the last matchday against their direct challengers, Anderlecht. It was the first championship in Leuven's history, breaking a run of seven consecutive championships for Anderlecht. A few days later she was crowned as the league’s player of the year.
Eurlings has played 39 international matches for Belgium, scoring six goals. With the ‘Red Flames,’ she participated in the 2022 European Championship, playing in all three group matches. In December 2024, she also qualified with the Belgian national team for the 2025 European Championship, which will be held in Switzerland in July. Called up recently for the tournament, her new adventure at 1. FC Union Berlin will begin after the final round.
Three facts about Hannah

With her move to 1. FC Union Berlin, Eurlings is leaving her home region of Flanders for the first time in her football career.
New Year's child: Hannah Eurlings was born on 1 January 2003.
Reactions to the transfer
"I am really looking forward to the new challenge at 1. FC Union Berlin,” said Eurlings on her move to the German capital. “It is a big step for me to leave my home country for the first time, but I felt from the very first conversations that Union is the right club for me. The vision here convinced me immediately. I want to contribute my qualities in attack and help the team achieve its goals. At the same time, I'm looking forward to getting to know a new city and culture and developing personally.”
“In Hannah, we are gaining an internationally experienced player who, despite her young age, has already taken on a lot of responsibility – both at club level and in the national team,” said Jennifer Zietz, Union’s director of women’s professional football. “She brings pace, technique and finishing ability to the table and has consistently proven her goal-scoring prowess over the years. The fact that she has chosen Union is a strong signal and underlines our approach. We are very pleased that Hannah will be wearing our colours in the future."
