From New Year:
Union Recognised as DFB Performance Center for Women
1. FC Union Berlin's women's youth academy have received the highest certification level from the German Football Association (DFB). Following the submission of all required documents and a DFB evaluation of the Oberspree training center (TZO), Union will officially be recognized as a DFB women's performance center from January 1, 2026.
Jennifer Zietz, Managing Director of Women’s Professional Football and Executive Board Member, said: “Recognition as a DFB Performance Center is another important step in the development of our youth work, and it confirms the high quality of the structures that we have continued to develop in recent years in the women’s sector. I am particularly proud that everyone in the department has worked with great passion to achieve this certification. This is an award for all those who have been involved for years in supporting young talents at the Training Center Oberspree as well as at the Training Center Plänterwald on their journey.”
“The certification is an important confirmation for us, but also an incentive to continue on the path we have taken. We want to offer our players at the Performance Center the best possible conditions for their sporting and personal development. The exchange with the DFB has been very constructive and helps us to further develop our work more specifically,” added Marcus Urban, Youth Coordinator for Women.
