First Pre-Season Friendly Against Turbine
The Women's Team Return to the Pitch
Having returned to training a week previously, 1. FC Union Berlin's women's team will play their first friendly of the summer on Saturday, 11.07.2026. Marie-Louise Eta's side will face the second division club 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam at the ORAFOL-Arena in Oranienburg. Kick off is at 14:00
The opponents
The former Champions League participants Turbine Potsdam have fallen on hard times lately. Following relegation from the Bundesliga, they finished last season in 11th place in the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga with nine wins, three draws, and 14 losses, only securing their survival in the league on the last matchday.
Their pre-season preparations have already begun, if disappointingly. Led by head coach Steen Gravgaard Ladefoged, who took office in January, Turbine suffered a 5-1 defeat to league rivals Viktoria Berlin last weekend. With thirteen departures and seven new arrivals, the team from the Brandenburg capital are, however, in the middle of a transformation.
In the Friendly opener, the coaching team will have to do without Anna Aehling, Cara Bösl, Antonia Halverkamps, Korina Janež, Mariann Noack, Dina Orschmann, Tanja Pawollek, Nelly Smolarczyk, and Judith Steinert.
“After a good first week of preparation with intensive sessions and a positive atmosphere in the team, we are looking forward to the first Friendly. We will give each player playing time and want to implement the first content-related topics from training. The match gives us the opportunity to gather initial insights and draw important conclusions for further preparation,” said head coach Marie-Louise Eta.
The admission for the match is €7. Tickets are available on the match day directly at the box office of the ORAFOL-Arena in Oranienburg.
Union will provide updates in German throughout the match on the club’s live ticker, while the friendly will also be broadcast live on AFTV+.
