Dmytro Bogdanov Loaned to Energie Cottbus
1. FC Union Berlin are loaning Dmytro Bogdanov to FC Energie Cottbus for the upcoming season. The 19-year-old forward has recently extended his contract with Union and will play the 2026/27 for the second division team on loan to gain further valuable match experience.
Next step in striker's development
The 6'1" player signed for Union last summer from SG Dynamo Dresden, provinghimself in the U-19s, gaining important experience in the first team squad, and then distinguishing himself in pre-season with his performances.
The Ukrainian experienced a special highlight in the Union shirt in the last home game of the season, recording his first, first-team assist in the 4-0 victory against FC Augsburg. He has also attracted attention on the international stage recently. With seven appearances and two assists, he strongly contributed to the Ukrainian U-19s nrun to the semifinals of the European Championship.

“Dmytro is a special player with a lot of attacking quality, which is why we deliberately recently extended his contract," said Union director of men's professional football, Horst Heldt. "For his further development, the loan to a second division team is now the right step to regularly gain match practice in a strong league, to prove his potential, and to specifically prepare for the next tasks at Union. We will closely accompany his path and wish him much success."
