Union ends training camp with test against Aris Limassol
After a week of training camp in Austria, the men's professional team of 1. FC Union Berlin has another Friendly scheduled.
On tomorrow’s Sunday, the 09.08.2026, the Eisernen will face the Cypriot top-tier club Aris Limassol at the SAK Arena Nonntal in Salzburg at 15:30. The match will be played in three halves of 45 minutes each.
Aris Limassol is one of the most traditional clubs in football in Cyprus. The club was founded in 1930 and is one of the founding members of the Cypriot football association.

For a long time, Aris was primarily successful in the second division, where the club won a total of five championships. However, the biggest success in the club's history came in the 2022/23 season with the first-time win of the championship. In 2023, Aris also won the Cypriot Super Cup and subsequently qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Europa League. The recently concluded season saw the club from southern Cyprus finishing in 6th place.
One of the defining moments in the club's history was the year 1989, when Aris reached the Cup Final for the first time. Despite the narrow 2-3 defeat against city rivals AEL Limassol, this match marked an important step in the development of the club. International attention was received by Aris shortly after through the signing of Oleh Blochin. The Ballon d'Or winner of 1975 ended his playing season in Limassol, marking the end of his successful professional career.
“The friendly at the end of the training camp is a good conclusion to bring the things learned in training onto the pitch and apply them. Once again, the focus will primarily be on giving as many players the opportunity to prove themselves and collect playing time“, said head coach Mauro Lustrinelli before the game on Sunday.
The kick off of the match takes place at 15:30 in the SAK Arena Nonntal in Salzburg (Ulrike-Gschwandtner-Straße 8, 5020 Salzburg). Tickets are available on-site at the box office for the price of €15 and €10 (reduced). Children under 12 years enjoy free admission. Parking spaces are available in the parking garage next to the arena.
