U19s Looking Forward to Their Cup Final
1. FC Union Berlin's U-19s will be playing on Wednesday evening for the right to call themselves the Champions of Berlin. Their opponents in the cup final are Berliner Sport-Club. Kick off in Neukölln's Werner-Seelenbinder-Sportpark is at 19:00
The Opponents
Berliner SC's U-19s are currently competing in the A-Junioren-Regionalliga Nordost. The Schmargendorf side are in eighth place with 22 points from 13 matches. They have impressed through their attack, averaging three goals per game.
They had a rocky start in the Cup, narrowly defeating Stern Marienfelde 3-2. Then, however, they breezed past VfB Berlin in the second round, 5-0, before SV Empor, posed a far greater threat, taking the game to penalties. In the end, Berliner SC came out on top, winning 6-5. They defeated VSG Altglienicke 5-3 in the semi-final, but now await their sternest test in the final.
The Head to Head
The only time the sides met preiously was in the Cup semi-final, six years ago, when Berliner SC visited Bruno-Bürgel-Weg. Union won 4-1 on the day.
