Union’s Women to Host Record Champions in Historic Opener

The fixture for the opening match of the 2026/27 Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga has been confirmed. To kick off the new season, 1. FC Union Berlin will host the reigning German champions, FC Bayern München. Kick off at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei will be at 18:20 on Friday, 21 August 2026, in what promises to be a historic evening of football.

“We are delighted that this season’s opening match is taking place at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei for the first time,” said Jennifer Zietz, Union’s director of women’s professional football on the announcement of the fixture. “Being able to welcome the German champions at home to kick off our second Bundesliga season is something special. Together with our team and our fans, we want to ensure an extraordinary football experience. The anticipation for the match and the new season is correspondingly high.”

Tickets for the match will soon be available online and at all Union’s Zeughaus stores. Tickets for the standing area will be available from 10 euros (children from 5 euros), whilst prices for seats in the main stand start at 18 euros. The Z1 terrace will be available for away supporters.

The match will be broadcast live on ZDF, as well as on MagentaSport and DAZN.

The German Football Association (DFB) will announce the remaining fixtures for the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga for the 2026/27 season on 16 July.
