Nadine Böhi Signs for Union
Nadine Böhi is joining 1. FC Union Berlin's women's team. The 21-year-old Swiss Goalkeeper has been signed frrom FC St. Gallen.
A keeper with international intentions
After initially playing for FC Niederwill as a child, Böhi joined the youth team of FC St. Gallen in 2016 at the age of 12. She made the step up to the women’s first team for the 2020/21 season, making her Super League debut shortly before her 17th birthday that same season.
After five appearances in her debut season and three more games in the following one, Böhi established herself as St, Gallen’s number one in 2022, going on to make 56 first-division appearances, keeping 22 clean sheets. Böhi kept a clean sheet in the first four games of the last season, helping her side finish fourth.
Böhi has been a regular member of the Swiss national team for almost a year but is still waiting to make her full international debut.
Three facts about Nadine
With FC St. Gallen, Böhi reached the final of the Swiss Cup in 2023, but lost 0-1 to Servette FC.
FC St. Gallen had the second-best defence in the league this season, conceding only twelve times. Böhi played eleven games without conceding a goal, the best record in the Women's Super League.
For the past few weeks, Böhi has also been attending the Swiss Army's elite sports recruit school.
Reactions to the transfer
"I am really looking forward to the new challenge at Union and to everything that awaits me in Berlin,” said Böhi on the signing of her contract at Union. “The club have ambitious goals, and I want to play my part in helping to achieve them. The talks with the coaching team were very trusting from the start and I immediately sensed that something special is developing here. For me, it's the right move at the right time.”
