Defensive Talent Signed:

Mariann Noack Gets Professional Contract

1. FC Union Berlin have signed defender Mariann Noack to a professional contract. The 15-year-old played her first competitive matches for the women's first team in the past two weeks.

U17 international already a regular face in training

Noack joined the youth team of 1. FC Union Berlin in 2022 and was a key part of the successful U17 women’s team last season, reaching the semifinals in the DFB Pokal and winning the German Futsal Championship.

Noack made her first appearances for the U23 women's team this season, playing in four Regionalliga matches so far, while also regularly participating in the training sessions of the first team. The weekend before last, she made her Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga debut, away against 1. FC Köln, making her one of the youngest debutants in the league's history. In the subsequent home match against RasenBallsport Leipzig, she again took to the field and played for the first time at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.

Noack has already played 18 international matches for various German youth teams. In September she was nominated for the U17s for the first time, participating in her first two matches.

The reactions on the signing

“I am very proud to have signed my first professional contract and to receive the trust from the club. My goal is to continuously improve, adapt to a higher level, and to be as successful as possible with the club,” Noack said during the contract signing.

Jennifer Zietz, managing director of women’s professional football, stated: “Mariann is one of the most talented players of her age group. At just 15 years old, she is already very advanced, but we also want to give her enough time to develop in peace. We are very happy that she continues her path with us.”
