As in the preliminary round, one home and one away game will be played in the main round. After all matches are completed, the top four teams from each group in League A will qualify for the round of 16 of the German Championship. From the round of 16 onwards, a knockout system will be played without return matches.  In League B, only the respective group will be played. Amateur clubs can qualify for the preliminary round of the DFB Youth League for the next season or be relegated to the Regionalliga. Clubs with a licensed youth performance center, like 1. FC Union Berlin, are placed in the highest league.

Statement on the Draw

André Hofschneider, head coach of the youth academy, saw the draws for the two oldest youth teams as follows: “We entered the U19 season with confidence and ambitious goals. Each group in the main round has its challenges and promises exciting matches. We are particularly looking forward to the duels with Leverkusen and Hoffenheim. The goal remains to reach the knockout stage, preferably with a home game."

For the U17s, the poor start to the season ultimately cost us qualification for the main round. We now expect all players to embrace the challenges of Group B and demonstrate further steps in their development.”
