. Imeri has been one of the most technically gifted attacking players in the Swiss Super League for some time, and brings with him the experience of winning domestic titles, as well as European and international football.

Joint Success, Reunited

Imeri began his footballing career at FC Meyrin before moving to Servette FC’s academy in 2013 where the creative midfielder developed into one of the most promising talents of his age group. He made his debut for Servette’s first team at the age of just 16, gaining valuable experience in Swiss professional football at an early stage, gradually establishing himself in the Geneva-based club’s first-team squad over the coming years. He secured promotion to the Super League with Servette before going on to make his mark in Switzerland’s top flight. The technically gifted Imeri particularly caught the eye during the 2021/22 season, scoring eleven league goals.

In the summer of 2022, he stepped up to top Swiss club BSC Young Boys. In Bern, he won the Swiss championship twice and the Cup once. He also scored his first goal in the UEFA Champions League whilst at Bern in November 2024.

His partnership with Mauro Lustrinelli proved particularly successful as, under Union’s current head coach, Imeri played a key role during his loan spell at FC Thun. Together, the pair enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 season, which culminated in them winning the Swiss title. Their successful partnership will now continue in Berlin.

Three facts about Kastriot

• He made his debut for the Swiss national team against Italy in a World Cup qualifier in November 2021.

• When Young Boys signed the midfielder in the summer of 2022, the fee of around 3.5 million Swiss francs was considered a record for a transfer between two Swiss clubs.

·       As a youth player, Imeri dreamed of a professional career at Servette FC. He made his debut for the first team at 16, and a few years later he was the most dangerous player on his team with eleven league goals.
