Call-Ups During the International Break
Following the conclusion of the Bundesliga's tenth matchday, the league is taking another break. But for many of 1. FC Union Berlin's men's first team players this means the chance to play for their national teams
The Nominees
For Leopold Querfeld, and his Austria side, the action will wait until Saturday. First, the ÖFB team will play against Cyprus, after which they must prove themselves against pursuers Bosnia and Herzegovina to secure direct qualification for the World Cup.

Midfield specialist András Schäfer is also striving with the Hungarian national team for participation in next year's World Cup. The “Nemzeti Tizenegy” must travel to Armenia on Thursday and play at home against Ireland three days later. Both opponents are within striking distance and could overtake Hungary with a victory.

After three appearances in the jersey of the “Schowto-blakytni” at the U19 European Championship in the summer of 2024, Dmytro Bogdanov can look forward to a nomination for Ukraine's U19 side, following his professional debut with Union in the DFB Pokal. The 18-year-old will face the U19 teams of Albania, Montenegro, and Slovakia in the EUROs qualification.

Having been part of coach Otto Addo's squad for the first time last September, Derrick Köhn did not play in the 1-1 against Chad and the 1-0 victory against Mali in the African World Cup qualifiers.
