Friday's Match Against Mainz Cancelled

Due to the inclement weather conditions in large parts of Germany and the safety risks for all involved, 1. FC Union Berlin's game away against Mainz has been cancelled.

On Friday evening, 1. FC Union Berlin were due to have kicked off the second half of the current 2023/24 Bundesliga season at 1. FSV Mainz 05.

However due to the inclement weather conditions in large parts of Germany and the safety risks for all involved, the decision was taken today to cancel the match.

The reason for this is the heavy build-up of ice on the lower tiers of the MEWA Arena, particularly in the standing area, as well as on the access routes and the associated safety risks for spectators. A new match date will be announced shortly.
