Nations League Call Ups
Three Union Women on International Duty
Three players from the women’s team of 1. FC Union Berlin have been called up for the international break in May and June 2025. Fatma Sakar, Korina Janez and Athanasia Moraitou will each meet up with their national teams to compete in the UEFA Women’s Nations League.
The Nominees
Back in the Turkish national team is Fatma Sakar, who was not available in April due to an injury. With three points in third place, the “Ay-Yildizlilar” must prevent relegation to League C in the matches against Ireland and Greece.

The Slovenian national team have so far had a nearly perfect group stage with Korina Janez. The "Zmajceki" won all four matches in League B, Group 2, with a goal difference of 10-1. In the last two group matches, Slovenia will face Greece and Ireland. In June, there will also be a Friendly against Australia.

Athanasia Moraitou has been called up again to the Greek national team. The team, led by national coach Alexandros Katikaridis, have lost all four Nations League matches this year and are struggling alongside Turkey to avoid relegation. In the two upcoming matches, Moraitou will face her Union teammates; Korina Janez when they face Slovenia and Turkey's Fatma Sakar. At the end of June, the Greek women will play a Friendly against the Belgium national team in Brussels.
