While the two professional teams of 1. FC Union Berlin will soon start preparing for the 2026/27 season, we take another look at the past season with the election of Union’s women and Union’s men of the year – for the first time with both professional teams in the Bundesliga.

While the men’s team of the Eisernen started the season well, they gradually lost their comfortable lead over the relegation places in the calendar year 2026, before securing their survival in the league on matchday 32 after the 2-2 against 1. FC Köln. The women’s professional team looks back on a successful debut season: With strong 30 points from 26 matches, survival was never in danger, and especially in the second half of the season, the team coached by Ailien Poese was able to showcase their strengths and stand up to the big names in German women’s football.

Now, until July 31, the Union’s woman and the Union’s man of the year can be elected. Based on performance and various factors, a preliminary selection has been made. If your personal favorite of the year is not included, they can be independently added.

Every Union fan is warmly invited to vote here. The election runs until 31.07.2026. The player with the most votes will be announced at the beginning of the 2026/27 season and appropriately honored.
