Eight Union Players take to the World
With the Bundesliga pause, eight members of the 1. FC Union Berlin men's team are facing their next challenge as they head off to their national teams. The upcoming international matches will see them in action across the globe, from North America to Asia.
The Nominees
A new chapter is beginning for Rani Khedira. The midfielder and vice-captain has been nominated for the Tunisian national team for the first time. Tunisia are traveling to North America for two Friendlies, where Khedira could collect his first minutes in the new national shirt.

After his last nomination in October 2024, Union's goalkeeper Frederik Rönnow announced his retirement from the Danish national team, but now Union's number one will be part of the "Danish Dynamite" again, and the coaching staff will rely on his experience in the World Cup qualification play-off. If they advance, Ireland or the Czech Republic will await in the final for a World Cup ticket – and possibly teammate Alex Král.
