Foundations, Floor, and First Walls Erected
Dance of the Cranes Over the Alte Försterei Training Center
The Alte Försterei's training centre's building site has seen plenty of action since mid-July. Excavators, trucks, concrete mixers, and two highly visible cranes are currently in operation, delivering facilities fit for both of Union's professional squads.
Last Friday, a large concrete pour was completed, finishing 95% of the foundation slab of the sports function building. Three hundred and fifty tons of steel and 3,000 m³ of concrete will support the three-story building, with the first walls being erected this week. In parallel, the foundation slab of the adjacent bus parking lot is being created.
Right next door, excavators and trucks have removed and transported around 8,000 m³ of soil over an area of 12,000 m² in recent weeks. The foundations currently being constructed will soon support the first walls and pillars of the carpark, on top of which another new training pitch will be built.
Both buildings will soon be seen, rising from the ground. Those who want to catch a glimpse of the construction progress can do so along the path from Hämmerlingstraße to the stadium.
