Annual "Winter, Mollig, Warm" Campaign Returns
Clothing Collection Around the Elversberg Game
When fans and members groups put out a call for donations for the houseless and needy last year, 130 bags of warm clothing, hundreds of hygiene items, and 24 mobile phones were collected and put to vital use.
This year, 1. FC Union Berlin will once again be collecting donations under the motto “Winter, mollig [cozy], warm”:
From 12:30 on the day of the men's game against SV Elversberg (Sat. 10.10) FuMA, the Union foundation, „UNION VEREINT. Schulter an Schulter“, the fan project, and Union's Wirtschaftsrat will be accepting clothing donations. They can be dropped off either in the parking lot in front of the main stand (P1) or in the parking lot at Hämmerlinghalle (P3).
For those who want to donate outside of match days, the following drop-off dates are available:
08.10. and 09.10.2026 | 16:00 to 20:00 | Fanhaus (Lindenstraße 18–19, 12555 Berlin)
Winter-appropriate men's clothing is needed, such as jackets, sweaters, trousers, shoes, socks, (warm) underwear, hats, and gloves. Additionally, essentials like sleeping bags, sleeping mats, and tents, as well as personal care products and functional mobile phones are needed. These should be reset to factory settings and submitted along with a charging cable before donation.
We ask for your understanding that women's and children's clothing, as well as summer, damaged, or heavily worn clothing, cannot be accepted.
If you are unable to support the “Winter, mollig warm” campaign with material donations, but still want to help, you can donate money towards the purchase of 'mummy' sleeping bags.
Advantages of Mummy sleeping bags
Especially during the cold winter months, life on the street can quickly become life-threatening. Mummy sleeping bags are particularly large, robust, and warming. They not only provide space for the person themselves but also allow for clothing, shoes, or personal items to be taken into the sleeping bag and protected from cold and moisture.
Since this type of sleeping bag is expensive, the Union Foundation are collecting monetary donations. Each financed sleeping bag provides concrete and immediate assistance.
