A specialist in the spectacular

The Duisburg-born player moved in 2024/25 from her home club, MSV Duisburg, to Union Berlin, at the time in the 2. Bundesliga. “Toni” won the 2. Bundesliga title in her debut season, and with four goals and five assists, played a huge role in Union securing a historic promotion to the top flight. Her goal against 1. FC Nürnberg will live long in the memory, having bent the ball beautifully into the top corner from the edge of the box.

She made 20 appearances and scored one goal in her debut Bundesliga season. That goal, however, came as Halverkamps outwitted German international goalkeeper Stina Johannes directly from a corner to give the hosts the lead against favourites, Wolfsburg. She provided three further assists during the season.

After 47 competitive matches in two years, during which she scored five goals and provided eight assists, her time with the club has now come to an end.

The reactions to her departure

“My time at 1. FC Union Berlin was something special,” said Halverkamps, looking back on her time in Köpenick. “In the two years we spent together, we celebrated promotion to the Bundesliga and experienced our first season there together. I was able to gather many wonderful experiences and memories, and I am very grateful for that. Now I’m looking forward to new challenges and a new chapter.”
