Amber Tysiak Signs for Union
1. FC Union Berlin are strengthening their defence with the signing of Amber Tysiak. The 25-year-old centre-back is joining Union from West Ham United.
Regular player in England and for Belgium
The 25-year-old Tysiak took her first steps in women's football at KRC Genk in 2016, having played mainly in boys' teams til then. She finally made her debut in the Belgian top flight, making her first 15 appearances for Genk in the 2019/20 season. At the end of the season, she moved to league rivals Oud-Heverlee Leuven, where she quickly established herself as a key player and consequently made her debut for the Belgian senior national team in 2021. Tysiak has played alongside Union striker Hannah Eurlings at both Leuven and the Red Flames.
After 53 appearances in two and a half years, Tysiak made the move to West Ham United in the English Women's Super League in January 2023 where she made four appearances before establishing herself as a regular the following season. Since then, she became an integral part of the Hammers' central defence, playing 52 competitive games, 48 of them in the starting lineup.
Tysiak is also a regular in the Belgian national team. Since her debut in 2021, she has 45 caps, scoring five goals. Together with Eurlings, she represented Belgium at the 2025 European Championship, playing the full 90 minutes in all three group matches.

Tysiak has scored at least one goal in each of her seven seasons in professional football. She has also scored for West Ham this season.
A Belgian with Polish and Italian roots, Amber has completed a bachelor's degree in teaching alongside her football career.
At 5’10”, she is the second tallest outfield player in the Union squad after Nele Bauereisen.

“Union have made enormous strides in women's football in Germany in recent years. After talks with the club officials, it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to be part of this development. I'm looking forward to Berlin, the stadium, the fans and, of course, playing with Hannah again,” said Tysiak on the signing of her contract.

She will bring stability, experience, and presence to our defence. We are confident that she will quickly settle in with us and help the team.”
