Playing Time at a High Level
Alma Aagaard Loaned to St. Pölten.
1. FC Union Berlin are loaning forward Alma Aagaard to the Austrian Bundesliga club SKN St. Pölten for the upcoming season.
Potential for Champions League Appearances and a Reunion with Elli Seiro
Aagaard transferred last summer from her Danish homeland to 1. FC Union Berlin. Since then, the 20-year-old has played four competitive matches for the women's first team, all in the first half of the season.
At St. Polten, the Austrian Runners-up, Aagaard will now participate in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League. There, her new team will face BSC Young Boys in the semifinal match on 05.08.2026. In the past two seasons, St. Pölten managed to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League.
Aagaard will also meet former Union player Elli Seiro, who has been chasing goals for the Blue-Yellows since last summer.
The statement on the loan
“We are still convinced of Alma's great potential. However, regular match practice at a high level is crucial for her further development, and the loan to St. Pölten provides excellent conditions for that," said Union's director of women's professional football, Jennifer Zietz. "We will closely monitor her season in Austria and look forward to welcoming her back to Berlin next summer.”
