The Business Network of 1. FC Union Berlin sees themselves as the economic network for the club. With near 30 members, mainly from medium-sized businesses, it has become a permanent fixture in the football club's immediate environment since 2004. As an economic network, it promotes the economic interests of their members, as well as, 1. FC Union Berlin, with who they are connected through diverse commitment. Nonetheless, as an independent group, they maintain their independence and they are not a committee of the club.
In this sense, the Business Network functions in particular as a corporate network, as a fan club for business people and entrepreneuers, as a support organisation, but also as a workshop for innovation and new ideas.
